The Host Broadcaster coverage in 2011 will be founded on the traditions and philosophy typical of NRK, and which have not least been developed in Holmenkollen.
Focus will always be on bringing the essential points of the competition to the audience. Yet the history, the atmosphere and the colourful crowds in this fabulous arena have to be an integrated part of the story.
Developed through many years, the coverage philosophy of Ski Jumping and Cross-Country has become like an unsigned pact between producer and viewer.
New technology has given improved opportunities with regard to camera angles, special cameras, sound and graphics. But the distinct Holmenkollen traditions and atmosphere must always play a leading part. In a World Championships there are many stories, and NRK Host Broadcaster will make every effort to tell them in the best possible way.
Graphics
The Host Broadcaster graphics will follow the rules established by FIS. Still, NRK aims at developing an on-screen graphic design with a distinct look, creating identity and reflecting the visual profile of the 2011 FIS Nordic World Championships.
The look will be modern, expressive and rough. The three main colours black, orange and yellow, and the illustration of raw energy and extreme efforts displayed by the athletes, will be central elements.
