On Thursday 's press conference Gene Simmons confirmed that the group would play the entire «Alive»-album on their tour of Europe this summer. And so they did, although they did some changes to the running order.
- We haven't been here in a eight years (nine, in fact), and we didn't want to come back before we could give you the full show, Paul Stanley said to the 13.000-strong crowd of Oberhausen's König Pilsener Arena on Friday Night.
Tommy Thayer had came up with a brand new part of his guitar solo, this time added on to «She». The new guitarist played some of it with the guitar behind his head, while mirrors on the back of the guitar's body reflected the spotlights.
Soon after though, he went into classic Ace Frehley-material, complete with Beethoven's 5th and rocket-shooting from the guitar's headstock.
No «Crazy, Crazy Nights», although the song reportedly was rehearsed by the band.
During «Lick It Up» the band broke into The Who's classic «Won't Get Fooled Again», a song that was performed in its entirety on Kiss' «Asylum»-tour in 1985.
Gene Simmons' spat blood before «I Love It Loud», and Paul Stanley flew out into the audience during «Love Gun». The frontman was only inches away from actually becoming part of the audience, when he missed the platform and almost fell into the crowd.
