What happens if you pay the broadcasting licence fee after the due date?

If you fail to pay the broadcasting licence fee within the due date, you have to pay a surcharge of 15% of the remaining amount of the licence fee.

When failing to pay within the due date you will receive a reminder approximately a month after the due date. The reminder will contain a demand for the broadcasting licence fee and the surcharge.

If you fail to pay the reminder within the due date, you will receive a notice for debt collection, cf. section 4-18 in the Act on debt collection and other recovery of overdue pecuniary claims (PDF). If you still do not pay the licence fee, the amount will go to debt collection by the Norwegian National Collection Agency.
