PROFILE

My name is Anneli Moe Conreen, i was born 5th of July 1981which makes me 26 years old this year. I was brought up in a beautiful country in Scandinavia called Norway in a small town called Fredrikstad.
I have always loved singing. I used to love music class in school and was always in the school plays and competitions. I just never realised I could make a career out of singing. So I concentrated on other things, like sports and doing well at school so I could be a teacher.
Six years ago I went to Thailand and I got into music in a big way! I started working as the lead singer in a band and was touring with them around Thailand. We mostly worked in Koh Chang and Bangkok and I stayed there for 4 months all together. I learned a lot of ballads, old Rock/Pop songs and Reggae.

The year after I went Cyprus to become a “holiday rep”, and to specialise in singing and entertainment. After the course I stayed behind in Ayia Napa working as a karaoke-compare/ singer. I met a lot of English singers when I was there, and I learned a lot by being in the environment of singers and entertainers. While I was there I also met my husband and I moved to Warrington where he was from. We decided to settle down there, and I also knew England would be a good place for me to peruse my singing career. Not to mention I was more than happy to keep living abroad. I always wanted to go places, and never really found something I was happy with living in Norway.

July 2004 I came to Warrington, and it took me about a year to settle down, I was working with my husband Paul Conreen as a builder helping to run his company Warrington Builders while saving up for music equipment.
I knew I had a long way to go, but I was working very hard to get further a field. I started taking singing and guitar lessons from Sheila Gott. I entered competitions, did some auditions, and joined a local theatre group called Centenary Operatic Society.
I did 2 shows; “Oklahoma” at The Parr Hall and “Visiting hours” at The Pyramid in Warrington.
I also did a spot on a charity Consert held for the victims of the Tsunami at the Brindly Theatre in Runcorn 2 years running.

In 2005 I started full time at Warrington Collegiate on the course Vocal Artist, a part of the access to music programme lead by Sue Quin. This course has helped and taught me a lot. It also got me a chance to get in touch with people in the industry, that has helped me move on.
I finished my level 2 and is this year doing my level 3. In this course we are doing a lot of gigs and performances, the regional gig at the Live Café in Manchester among others. Next year I am hoping to continue my education in London at the artist development programme lead by John Heart with Access-to-music and Rock school

I have in the last three years done several auditions and competitions:
 I have been in the final 2 years running in Chicago rock’s Rock Idol,
 I won the final together with the girls at the vocal artist course in a talent competition at the Parr Hall in Warrington,
 I have been in the final and came 3rd singing in Swedish in Warrington’s own Pop Factor that was shown live on the internet at bigidea.co.uk, and
 I got through the first sage of X-Factor among others.
 I have been on the BBC show “Ready, Steady Cook” with Ainsley Harriet with my husband Paul Conreen and
 We got married the 10th of February 2007 on a new BBC show made by the production company Lion TV called “The big day” with Nick Knowles, Hannah Sandling and James Love. It will be shown primetime on BBC1 19th of July.
 I have also wrote a number of songs, and 2 of them “Hold my hand” and “I would not be me without you” will feature on the show “The big day”
 I got through 1 audition in The Norwegian idol competition.
 My song “Hold my hand” has been played on BBC radio Manchester and Wire FM warrington.

I have with the help Steve Millington, Frog studios in Warrington recorded over 30 songs of my own material and cover-songs. Last year I made a Christmas album called
“No Christmas without you” featuring the Christmas song I have written with the same name.

I am now in the process of working with musicians to do more original stuff, recordings and gigs. I am currently doing gigs on my own in pubs, restaurants, private parties, clubs and corporate events mainly in Liverpool, Warrington and Chester. I will also this year do Eva Cassidy and Cilla Black tributes. But I will mainly concentrate on doing Weddings in Walton Hall and around Cheshire. I am offering a song writing service to couples that want to have their own song written for their wedding day.
I am auditioning for the Paul McCartny school of music in 2008.
