The story of Angelz start's the summer the year of our Lord 2003
when I asked a childhood friend of mine, Tommy,to join me and form
ANGELZ.
Initially we recruited a local guitar hero to hammer the axe, and during those first few rehersal's,B.A who was a friend of the local gitar hero tagged along,and when we heared that B.A was playing guitar as well,
we strapped one on him.
B.A beeing the quiet guy,didnt make much fuzz 'bout his precence as far as I can recall.
But after a few initial rehersals,it quickly came to an halt when the new recruit pursuied a family life. In other word's,the 1'st constellation was'nt revealed until B.A's friend quit,and me and Tommy was twisting our brain's,figuring what to do next,when we decided to give B.A a shot..
Never having any experience as a lead guitarist,B.A slowly grew into his new found role. After relentless rehersal's and song writing over a three month period, Angelz was ready for our first consert.
It was to be on halloween 2003,and no one was ready for what was revealed.
We had our face's smeared in blood,and horn's in our forhead's, appearing as devil's in contrast to our band name as a joke.
It was on that consert the whole idea,with minor changes, was consived,previously we'd been without any "image",coz music come's first(that's what it's all about)and second an image is not something you wear,it is part of you.
And we ARE truly AngelZ..he he
And we played so LOUD,it could be heared just about everywhere
(we even subdued a local disco nearby.)
All reved up by the response we got,AngelZ went back into rehersal, to cut a demo and prepare for a full on assult on the local scene.
We abandoned the old chuch where we've been residing,and opted for an old mortuary for the recording session's.
The demo never came close to beeing started,as the we were far too busy drinking and fucking around.(all in a good rock'n'roll spirit though.)
All fun & game's until it all came to a holt again,when the local authorety shut down our operation's,claiming we'd been tresspassing and was occupying the premesess illegaly and of course consuming illegal substances,ha ha.
(they even "stole" our equipment,f**king bastards)
We then retreated back to the old church,and soon a dark cloud grew over the AngelZ project,
disspear was lingering.
Tommy had dissapeared.....vanished.
Was this it then,AngelZ was as dead as it ever was alive.
But after six month's,the angel with the thundersticks was eager to play,and rehersalz was resumed. Just before chrismas 2004,new addition's to the set list had been added, and a new recording session was long due.
This time we put some effort into the recording's,and "hired a proffessional sound engeneer" to supervise the prossess,but we was left alone again doing everything ourselves,and song's like "the world is mine", "fate" and "sinner" was recorded.
(tough "the world is mine" recording was later distorted.)
A new personal record was made,recording in all 11 song's in 2 hour's.
In hindsight,the recording's were crap...
Haunted by bad luck,some of the recording's was ruined,and at a later stage, during mixdown,the home-studio colapsed,leaving us with,to say the least, fairly incomplete recording's.
(But it did`nt matter,coz half of the song's was'nt even completed then...)
And THAT mixdown(containing:never again,sinner,fate,nothin'and outcast) was sendt to a radio contest for a spot on the norwegian-underwood festival summer of 2005.
Needless to say,the response was as espected,total silence.
We realized we had been blinded by actually getting sometin' down on tape,but the recordings did'nt mirror the intensety
,nor the rawness of our "live" sound,and some of the song's was later re-arranged.
But as luck wanted it,
I first fractured my right hand,and the week after,
broke my piss-off finger on the left hand...(my poor finger... :)
And to top it off,not only had they been rejected by the NU
festival,but all other future plan's for the summer seemed to slip away.
Safe to say,no one was comfertable with the situation.
In the beginning of june -05 rehersal's was again initiated,even tough I was still wearing a big metal spine wrapped around my finger.
Never the less,AngelZ had been awoken....but we were suffering...and it would become worse,
as faith would have B.A assigned to another task,
while Tommy,retreated,into......?
God bless his soul,for he was to become a father in december 2005,spinning off into fatherhood
After initial hesitation's,as to the future, the decition became apparent,that now was the time to move on to greater sphere's.
Encouraged by fan's to continue,there was no other alternative as this is what it is.
(The decition was'nt that hard really,beeing such angelz as we are anyway.)
I managed to resolve the issues with the studio,and we re-worked and re-recorded some part's. It must said we were very pleased with the result,but again, as we were about to mix it down,the fucker(the studio,that is!)
completly broke down.....
After the TOTAL collapse (the studio),we suddenly found ourself left with basicaly,
NOTHING,
xept for those awful pre-mixes we'd done almost a year earlier. And the only surviving recording we have now is
"Sinner"
