- Will be going through treatment

According to a message posted on the bands official webpage, turbonegro.com, the 33 year old guitarist is being treated for a «serious illness». Schreiner himself apologizes to his fans on MySpace, and tells them not to worry too much.

- I just wanted to say a few words about how sorry I am about the whole situation. First of all, I’m doing alright now, staying at home with my family and feeling OK. But I’ll be going through treatment in the near future. Now my life has turned upside down and I won’t be able to tour or perform for a while, «Euroboy» writes.

- I'm not leaving the band!

The flashing lead-guitarist also stresses that he has no intentions of leaving the band, although two of his friends, guitarist Rune Rebellion and drummer Chris Summer, recently both left Turbonegro.

- Recently there’s been changes in the line-up for the first time in ten years. I don’t want you to see what’s going on now as another step in that direction. My heart is still pounding for the mighty Turbonegro.

The band, who just performed a handful of shows in ther native country Norway with new drummer Thomas Dahl, are currently awaiting news on Schreiner's condition, but hopes to reschedule the European dates in the fall.

The 33 year old lead guitarist joined Turbonegro in 1996, initially replacing founding member Pål Bøttger Kjærnes, known as Pål Pot Pamparius. When the original guitarist returned, Schreiner stayed in the band as their third guitarist, and remanined in front together with frontman Hank Von Helvete and bassist/songwriter Thomas «Happy-Tom» Seltzer.

Four year long hiatus

Heavily inspired by classic rock guitarists like Ace Frehley (Kiss), Schreiner added flash and style to Turbonegro's catchty deathpunk, and was an important part in the band's masterpiece «Apocalypse Dudes», released in 1998. The band then went on a four year long hiatus, while lead singer Hank Von Helvete (real name: Hans Erik Dyvik Husby) battled with heroin-addiction.

Turbonegro made an extremely succesful comeback in 2002, and has since released three studio-albums, «Scandinavian Leather», «Party Animals», «Retox», and a limited edition rarities collection, «Small Feces»
