BO ONLY CONTINUING a bipartisan well established practice: He is a son of a gun but he is OUR son of a gun. I have read that Einstein had trouble figuring out how to count his money to purchase articles at retail stores. He would open his wallet and let the store clerks pull out the appropriate amounts. There are several other common tasks he either was uninterested in or somehow unable to do that ordinary people do every day. There have been many other great men who had all sorts of trouble and exhibited contradictory behavior like the man who wrote that "all men are created equal". My point is not that Geithner is Einstein or Jefferson, he may be a scumbag for all I know, but ibecause the bigger picture is more important than the little picture I am reserving my judgement. |

From Neal Boortz who once again, hits it dead on...
You're kidding me, right? Tom Daschle is trying to tell the American people that he didn't know that he was supposed to pay taxes on the value of that limo and chauffer provided to him by the company that hired him as a lobbyist. He thought it was a "gift from a friend." He was working for that friend. He was getting paid! And he sits there and wants you to believe that the car and driver was a gift? "Oh yeah, I was on the payroll all right, but this car and driver was a gift." Come on, now. You're kidding me, right? How many millions of Americans have company cars - maybe not limos, but company cars - who know that every year they have to pay taxes on the value of that benefit? And Tom Daschle didn't know? He didn't know .. yet mysteriously he suddenly found out about the unpaid taxes just before PrezBO named him to be the Secretary of Health and Human Services? You're buying this? Now what would you call a change in the Senate whereby a presidential nominee with a history of cheating on his taxes would have no chance for confirmation, to a status whereby all the nominee has to say was "it was a mistake" and he's home free? What do you call it when the new Treasury Secretary .. ultimately in charge of the Internal Revenue Services .. forgets to pay taxes right up until the time that he's nominated by Obama? I'll tell you what that is ... that, my friends, is Change You Can Believe In. |
